Abstract

|
The authors reviewed the causes and their treatments of TMJ pain dysfunction syndrome. The principal cause was thought to be the myospasm of masticatory musculatures by stress and dental irritation. Therefore, we attempted to control the myospasm by isometric exercises and regular daily physical exercise(walking, jogging, bicycling, rope skipping). The result was favorable without recurrences in 27 patients, who was referred to our Dept. of Dentistry(Oral Surgery), Wonju Christian Hospital.
